Baldr Portable Power Station Review
Baldr 500W portable power station is an amazing power station for people on a budget. It offers a 518Wh Lithium-ion battery with a 500W inverter. But is this product actually worth it? Let’s find out.
Fast Charging
Baldr 500W Portable Power Station is fast charging. It does not charge as fast as an EcoFlow portable power station. However, we tried to charge it with a 120W solar panel. The battery is already 48%. And it took Baldr to charge from 48% to almost 100% within 4 hours. These numbers are interesting because most portable power stations are slow to charge via solar panels.
Impressive Battery Capacity
Another great feature about the Baldr 500W portable power station is its battery capacity. As said previously, it offers a 518Wh battery. But how far can it take you? Well, we ran a heater on our fully charged Baldr 500W for 7 hours. And guess what? By the end of the 7th hour, the battery was still 75%.
Sturdy Built
The Baldr 500W is well-made and has a sturdy body. Even though it is not the most lightweight device out there, the ergonomic handles make it easy to carry. Not to mention the non-slip feet allows you to put the potable power station on any type of surface.
This portable power station also features an easy-to-read LED screen. The screen shows the battery percentage so you know when to charge your power station.
Retains Battery
Last but not least Baldr 500W retains its battery when not in use. You might have noticed how some power stations lose it’s capacity even when not in use? Well, that is not Baldr 500W. We charged it fully and stored it as we did not need a portable power station at the time. However, when after a few days we turned on the power station, to our surprise it still had 100%.
Cons:
- The LED screen that we loved does not sleep. So, no matter what time of the day it is, if the power station is on, the battery will also be on.
- The inverter fan sometimes takes longer to turn on and it causes the battery to overheat.
Jackery Portable Power Station Review
High Market Share Value
Jackery portable power stations are not new in the market and have been around for a while. The brand has sold tons of products in the last few years and has got goodwill. Other than that, the market shares of Jackery are high and people trust the brand. Higher shares are not only good for the company but for the customers as well. Because this high share value means the brand has money to invest in research and keeps making their product better than ever before.
Better Brand Marketing
Another thing we love about Jackery portable power stations is the way they market their product. They are always honest about their product and what it offers. Other than that, with just one click, you can find out tons of information about Jackery portable power stations on the internet. This better marketing and product placement make it easier for us to decide which Jackery portable power station suits our needs the best.
Aesthetic Appearance
The appearance matters when you are buying something expensive and decide to use it every day. Jackery portable power stations have a unique appearance that makes it looks more expensive than it actually is. It also blends in nicely with the RV interior and does not look out of place.
Lightweight Body
Jackery portable power stations are well-made and have a sturdy body. But at the same time these power stations are extremely lightweight. Due to these lightweight bodies, Jackery power stations are easy to carry and travel with.
Cons:
Jackery 500W portable power station’s price is $499.99. Which is exactly the same as the price of the Baldr 500W portable power station. In terms of price, both of them are equally affordable. However, Baldr 500W offers better functions than Jackery 500W. So, if you compare the features and price of both of these power stations then Baldr is a better deal. In terms of charging, Jackery 500 offers 4 types of charging options. You can either charge it from a wall outlet, car outlet, generator, or solar panel. When charging via a 100W solar panel sheet, you can get a 100% charge within 9.5 hours. All of the other charging types can charge your Jackery portable power station in 7.5 hours. Baldr also offers the same charging options; wall outlet, generator, car cigarette port, and solar power. However, the charging time differs between Jackery and Baldr portable power stations. Overall Baldr 500 offers faster charging than Jackery 500. Both Jackery 500 and Baldr 500 offer the same amount of power, 518Wh. Technically, both of these power stations can run the same appliances for the same amount of time. With a 518Wh portable power station, you can charge a phone 50 times and a camera 25 times. 518Wh portable powers stations can run a TV for 7-10 hours, a laptop for 30 hours, and a mini-fridge for 10-15 hours. Not all power stations have the same amount and same type of output ports. And unlike popular opinion, the amount of the output ports do matter. Jackery 500W portable power station has 3 x USB-A ports, 2 x DC ports, and 1 x carport output power ports. This indicates that this power station can charge/run only 6 appliances at a time. On the other hand, Baldr 500W has 2 x AC ports, 2 x DC ports, 3 USB output ports, and 1 car cigarette port. In total Baldr can run/charge 8 different appliances simultaneously. When buying a portable power station the size matters a lot. Especially if you are getting the device for your RV or camping. Both of these power stations claim to be portable and easy to carry around. However, one is more portable than the other. I terms of price both Jackery and Baldr portable power stations are the same. However, what makes a difference is the features these products offer. So, which power station is better, Jackery or Baldr? In this post, we did a Jackery vs Baldr 500W portable power station comparison. Both of these products are highly rated and best sellers on the internet. However, only one can be better than the other. And in our opinion that Baldr 500W with 518Wh battery capacity, 8 output ports, 4 charging types, and a sturdy body is better.
