Maxoak Bluetti EB240 Review
Let’s start this review with some of the EB240’s key features.
#1. 2500+ Long Life Cycle
Bluetti EB240 has a 2500+ long battery life cycle. It can be charged and discharged more than 2500 times. Furthermore, the Bluetti EB240 power station’s battery does not overheat. It has a better battery core than ordinary batteries. All of these factors combine together to make this battery reliable and long-lasting.
Even if you use this battery every day to its full capacity, the Bluetti portable power station will last you for 6.8 years.
#2. Inverter Load: Continuous 1000W
Having a high-capacity portable power station is not helpful when the inverter cannot take the load of your appliances, right? Well, this will never be a problem with the Bluetti EB240 portable power station. Not only this portable power station offers 2400Wh continuous power but it also has a 1000W inverter.
This power station can take a load of electronic appliances under the 1000W requirement. In other words, you can run almost all of your appliances on this portable power station.
#3. MPPT Built-in for Fast Solar Charging
Lastly, the Bluetti EB240 is equipped with a built-in MPPT or maximum power point tracker. This feature allows the portable power station to charge up to 40% faster from the solar panels. Because of the built-in MPPT, the Bluetti EB240 power station takes only 9 to 9.5 hours to charge with Bluetti solar panels.
Cons of bluetti EB240
Heavier than Other Portable Power Stations
Bleutti EB240 is slightly heavyweight and sometimes difficult to move around. Furthermore, the size is a bit bigger than other portable power stations as well. Hence, if you lack space then this power station might not be a good device to travel with.
Slow charge time
Even though the Bluetti EB240 power station has a built-in MPPT charge controller, the charging time is still slow. It takes around 9-9.5 hours to fully charge.
If you are looking for a power station with the fastest charging time then you might need to check out the ECOFLOW line. Because the ECOFLOW delta 1300 power stations can charge within 1.5 hours.
Bluetti Eb240 Power Station Testing
Now that you know the features of the Bluetti EB240 portable power station, it is time to test out the device to see how it works.
Bluetti EB240 Genetal Test
We connected the power station with the recommended Bluetti solar panel and let it run a medium size chest freezer for a week outside under the sun. The power station battery was charging and discharging at the same time. During this entire session, the power station did not heat up and kept running the freezer.
Bluetti EB240 Battery Capacity and Runtime Test
For the second test, we let 2 space heaters run on the Bluetti EB240 portable power station. The combined power these space heaters used were 500wH. First, we plugged an output tester device into the Ac plug and then plugged the space heaters into that device.
A 100% fully charged battery ran these space heaters for around 4 hours. And the device read “1.9Kwh energy used”. After that, the battery died out. This indicates that even though the battery capacity is 2400wH you can only access around 2000wH of it.
Bluetti EB240 MPPT Efficiency Test
The last test was to determine how efficient the built-in MPPT is. So, we connected the power station with a voltage tester and linked it to a 365W panel. When the battery started charging the tester showed that only 165W energy was going in.
On average, the solar panels offer 20-45% power gain in summer and 10-15% in winter. And according to our test, the power gain here was also 45%. This means the MPPT charge controller is highly efficient.

Best Solar Panels for Bluetti 2400
It is time to talk about the best solar panel for the Bluetti EB240 portable power station. The manufacturers of this power station themselves suggest that the most compatible solar panel for the Eb240 portable power station is the Bluetti SP120 120W solar panel.
Let’s discuss the main features of this solar panel.
High Conversion Efficiency
Solar panel efficiency means the amount of sunlight/solar energy a solar panel can convert into useable electricity. For most solar panels in the market, the efficiency rate is between 15% to 20%. However, the Bluetti SP120 120W solar panel has a 23% efficiency rate. This means Bluetti SP120 120W solar panel can produce more electricity than a 120W solar panel from a different brand.
Durable & Splash-Proof
As solar panels are kept outdoor for obvious reasons, it is necessary for them to be weather-proof. And one of the best features of the Bluetti SP120 120W solar panel is that it is durable and IP65 water-resistant. This solar panel is made of high-quality material and is laminated.
In other words, Bluetti SP120 120W solar panel can survive water splashes. However, do not put these solar panels out in heavy rain.
Compatible with Most Power Stations
Yes, the Bluetti SP120 120W solar panel is one of the best solar panels for the Bluetti EB240 portable station. However, the Bluetti SP120 120W solar panel is also compatible with most of the other portable power stations. So, even if you do not own a Bluetti EB240 you can still use the Bluetti SP120 120W solar panel with any other portable power station of your choice.
As portable power stations are usually considered best for travelers, there is no point in owning solar panels that are not compatible. This is why Bluetti SP120 120W solar panel is designed to be travel-friendly. These solar panels are thin and foldable and can easily fit in your vehicle.
Bluetti EB240 Vs AC200
Bluetti AC200 is another great portable power station option available in the market. But which one is better? Following is a general comparison of Bluetti EB240 and Bluetti AC200.
Battery Capacity & Inverter
As we already know that the Bluetti EB240 portable power station has a 2400Wh maximum battery capacity. The EB240 also has a 1000W max output inverter.
The Bluetti AC200 portable powers station has a 2000Wh battery capacity which is lesser than the Eb240 power station. However, the Ac200 has a 2000W maximum output inverter. With a more powerful inverter, the AC200 portable power station can take more load easily.
In terms of battery capacity, the Bluetti EB240 was a clear winner. However, when it comes to the battery lifecycle AC200 gets a point. The Bluetti Eb240 has a 2500+ lifecycle which is already better than most of the other portable power stations in the market. But the Bluetti Ac200 has a 3500+ battery life cycle. With a 3500+ battery life cycle, you can use the Bluetti AC200 portable power station for 9.8 years.
The charging time depends on the battery capacity so, it is expected that the Ac200 would have a slightly faster charging. We already discussed how the Bluetti EB240 portable power station has a slow charge time. So, it is no surprise the AC200 is faster at charging than the EB240. In general, the Bluetti AC200 takes around 3.5 to 4 hours to charge completely. On the other hand, the Bluetti EB240 takes around 9 to 9.5 hours completely.
Note: The Bluetti SP120 120W solar panel can also be used for the Bluetti AC200 portable power station.
Lastly, let’s look at the price of both of these power stations. At first glance, the Bluetti Ac200 seems a cheaper option as its list price is $1699.00. However, the list price is not a clear indicator of how cheaper the power station is. So, let’s compare the cost per watt-hour of both of these power stations.
As the list price of Bluetti EB240 is $1999.00 it has a $0.8 price per watt-hour cost. On the other hand, the cost per watt-hour of the Bluetti AC200 is $0.8 as well. So, in general, both of these power stations have a similar price.
With that, we are at the end of our Bluetti EB240 review. This portable power station offers a good battery size (2400wH) and the inverter is also powerful (1000W). Due to the slow charging and bulky body, the Bluetti EB240 is better as an emergency power source than a permanent power source for travelers. All in all, the Bluetti EB240 portable power station is a good investment.
