Cons of bluetti EB240

Heavier than Other Portable Power Stations

Bleutti EB240 is slightly heavyweight and sometimes difficult to move around. Furthermore, the size is a bit bigger than other portable power stations as well. Hence, if you lack space then this power station might not be a good device to travel with.

Slow charge time

Even though the Bluetti EB240 power station has a built-in MPPT charge controller, the charging time is still slow. It takes around 9-9.5 hours to fully charge.

If you are looking for a power station with the fastest charging time then you might need to check out the ECOFLOW line. Because the ECOFLOW delta 1300 power stations can charge within 1.5 hours.

Bluetti Eb240 Power Station Testing

Now that you know the features of the Bluetti EB240 portable power station, it is time to test out the device to see how it works.

Bluetti EB240 Genetal Test

We connected the power station with the recommended Bluetti solar panel and let it run a medium size chest freezer for a week outside under the sun. The power station battery was charging and discharging at the same time. During this entire session, the power station did not heat up and kept running the freezer.

Bluetti EB240 Battery Capacity and Runtime Test

For the second test, we let 2 space heaters run on the Bluetti EB240 portable power station. The combined power these space heaters used were 500wH. First, we plugged an output tester device into the Ac plug and then plugged the space heaters into that device.

A 100% fully charged battery ran these space heaters for around 4 hours. And the device read “1.9Kwh energy used”. After that, the battery died out. This indicates that even though the battery capacity is 2400wH you can only access around 2000wH of it.

Bluetti EB240 MPPT Efficiency Test

The last test was to determine how efficient the built-in MPPT is. So, we connected the power station with a voltage tester and linked it to a 365W panel. When the battery started charging the tester showed that only 165W energy was going in.

On average, the solar panels offer 20-45% power gain in summer and 10-15% in winter. And according to our test, the power gain here was also 45%. This means the MPPT charge controller is highly efficient.
